Marilyn Ellis, Account Manager at Strategic Association Management (SAM), was recently awarded the President’s Award by the Dallas Fort Worth Association Executives (DFWAE). The award, presented at the 2025 Champions of Change Luncheon on July 23, is presented by the immediate past president to the individual they feel made the most significant impact on the association during their term.

“This award is a well-deserved recognition of Marilyn’s ability to strengthen the association community through her leadership, commitment and service,” said JJ Colburn, CAE, co-CEO at SAM. “We’re incredibly proud to see her honored by DFWAE for the meaningful difference she continues to make.”

Marilyn joined SAM in 2025 with more than 25 years of experience in association management and a strong background in finance, governance and operations. She is a longtime MPI DFW member and is also Past President of the Dallas Fort Worth Association Executives (DFWAE). In 2024, she received the DFWAE Star Award, which honors outstanding committee service. She is also a recipient of the 2025 Rising Star award by the Meeting Professionals International – Dallas/Fort Worth Chapter (MPI DFW).
