Lacy Compton

Lacy Compton, M.A., serves as Account Director for SAM, primarily overseeing professional learning, partnership, and branding and communications strategies for clients. Lacy joined SAM in 2018 with more than 13 years of both association and corporate communications and marketing experience, along with a rich background in education theory, design, policy, and best practices. She previously worked as senior editor for Prufrock Press Inc., and as an adjunct instructor with the Johns Hopkins University Center for Talented Youth. Lacy received her bachelor’s degree in journalism from Baylor University and her master’s degree in English, with a specialization in children’s literature, from Texas State University. 

She is currently a member of the Texas Society of Association Executives (TSAE), American Society of Association Executive (ASAE), AMC Institute (AMCI), and the National Association for Gifted Children (NAGC). Lacy was a member of the 2019 class of Leadership TSAE and has presented at TSAE’s New Ideas Conference; TSAE’s Membership, Marketing, and Communications Conference; multiple TSAE virtual panels/sessions; and the NAGC Leadership & Advocacy Conference.
