Alex Zimmerman

Finance Manager

Alex Zimmerman serves as a Finance Manager at SAM. In this role, she manages the financial operations of multiple partner organizations, ensuring financial data is accurate, up to date, and effectively interpreted to support strategic goals.

Alex joined SAM in 2025 new to the association and nonprofit space with a strong background in finance and accounting. She previously spent three-and-a-half years with The Andersons, Inc., where she began as an accounting assistant before being promoted to accounting supervisor. In that role, she led financial processes and contributed to process improvement efforts across departments. She also served for over a year on the company's internal processing/processing improvement committee, helping to identify and implement operational efficiencies.

Alex attended Western Governors University, where she pursued a bachelor's degree in business management. She brings an analytical mindset and a commitment to continuous improvement to her work with SAM and its partners.

Family: Two children (Penelope and Jax)

Outside of work, I love... to spend time outdoors, with family, traveling, and cooking.

My workplace superpower is... adaptability. I have the ability to quickly adjust to changing priorities and new technologies.

What inspires me about working with associations: I look forward to working with associations and nonprofits that are passionate about their missions, and I am excited about making a difference in our communities.

My unique skills or passions: I am passionate about establishing structure and organization through the development of clear policies and procedures. I excel at defining project requirements and implementing internal controls that effectively communicate needs and expectations.
